BUS TOUR

TAPPAHANNOCK, VA. !

THEY SIGNED HER BUS~AMAZING!

Celeste Garrett is a mom of three kids. She lives in King William County in a rural area 25 miles northeast of Richmond. She told the Virginia Independent that she’s been volunteering with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia since 2022, after the Dobbs decision.

“This is what democracy looks like,” Garrett said about Spanberger’s win. “That chant that is going through my head is what keeps coming back to me.”

“Every vote counts, and I am very proud of Virginia that we are holding the line for women’s rights,” she added. “I was nervous. I didn’t know, because we’ve had [Republican Gov. Glenn] Youngkin, and you just don’t know what’s going to happen until it does. This was better, I think, than what any of us even could have hoped for.”

SNAP BENEFITS

Here’s what’s on the table:

A three-month deadline to find 20+ hours of work—or lose your groceries.

Raising the work requirement age from 54 to 64—forcing 3 million older Americans to scramble or starve.

Targeting single parents with kids over 7—even though part-time jobs that accommodate school hours, sick days, and snow days are rare, and child care here costs $150–$250 a week.

This will hit our people, hard.
