Now, Virginians are heading to the polls to vote on a constitutional amendment that will protect fairness in the midterm elections, stop this power grab, and defend our democracy.

What’s the “SAVE ACT”?
The SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship and photo ID to vote in federal elections and compel states to search for non‑citizen voters, is being pushed by President Trump as a guarantee of Republican midterm victories, but its passage faces steep Senate hurdles and legal challenges.
Key Points:
The Senate version of the SAVE America Act would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.
The bill also mandates photo identification for in‑person and mail‑in voting and requires states to submit voter rolls to the federal government for non‑citizen checks.
The Center for American Progress reports that 146 million American citizens lack a valid passport and 69 million married women lack a birth certificate matching their legal name.
According to Pew Research, 58% of Americans back voter‑ID requirements.
Voting by non‑citizens is already a felony, but experts say such instances are rare and not a widespread problem in the United States.

On Dec 24, 2025, the United States Postal Service made an update to their policy, no longer guaranteeing that mail would be postmarked on the day it was mailed but instead when it was received at a distribution center.
This means that your mail - ballots, tax returns, and any other sensitive mail - may not be postmarked until multiple days after you drop it in the mailbox.
