WHY MADURO & VENEZUELA MATTERS!

Gov. Abigail Spanberger has ordered flags at government buildings around the state flown at half-staff Monday to honor domestic violence victims.

Spanberger’s order says flags will be lowered to honor Cerina Wanzer Fairfax, the dentist and mother who was married to former Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax.

He shot and killed her and himself at their Northern Virginia home last month.

The couple were reportedly in the midst of a contentious divorce. Fairfax’s political career sputtered out after his tenure as Lt. Gov. following allegations of sexual assault. He denied the accusations and was never charged, but he never recovered politically.

Spanberger’s order honors all victims of domestic violence, saying it's a reality that women can face in any community or circumstance.
